About Me
Max McDonough was born in Rockford, Illinois and moved to Madison, Wisconsin a month after he turned two, which is where he spent the rest of his childhood. With his summer months being spent in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, Max’s artistic eye was born in the forest. It was because of his love for nature that McDonough moved to Bozeman, Montana, where he graduated from the Honor's College with a BA in Film & Photography at Montana State University. Although Max loves shooting landscapes, his photographic interests lie in people. Max’s recent work stems from his connection to others, capturing the essence and beauty of each individual photographed. Often combining these two loves, you will find him in mountain environments photographing the people he loves. His current work has led to partnerships with Rise, a yoga program in Wisconsin made for teenagers, an internship with Simms Fishing working with the marketing department as a photo editor, a photo partnership with Beringia, and now the lead content creator for OPTECH USA. Although Max takes his work quite seriously, he is frequently seen with a smile across his face. Constantly falling in love with life’s intricate details, Max’s adoration for life, search for the sublime, and childlike wonder thrive as the days progress. These traits are what help him continue to find inspiration with his work.
